Synopsis
An outlaw is rescued from death by a nun who is traveling through the Badlands. She nurses him back to health in exchange for him guiding her to a Church in Williston. A deep friendship develops between these two unlikely people as they learn to work together to survive their dangerous journey.

**_âThe world is a kingdom of pain and sufferingâ_** In the Badlands of North Dakota, 1890, a nun (Tiffany Cornwell) helps a wounded outlaw (Daniel Bielinski) and uses him to find a remote church facility, but the manâs former boss, an arrogant sadist, doesnât take kindly to this (Andrew E. Wheeler). âSanctifiedâ (2022) takes the basic premise of âTwo Mules for Sister Saraâ and mixes it with the gritty realism of life on the prairie in the Old West of âBad Companyâ (1972). Itâs a morality tale that examines the toughest questions of life, such as âIs there a God?â and âIf there is, why does the Creator allow people to brutally suffer in a godforsaken world?â It pulls no punches and is reminiscent of âThe Propositionâ in some ways. It runs 1 hour, 29 minutes, and was shot in Medora in west-central North Dakota. GRADE: B
